Automotive - Cut and Sew Trim Technician
World renowned Stitchcraft Interiors in Westminster began 30 years ago designing and creating one of a kind and award-winning automotive interiors for custom and classic cars, hot rods and boats. Currently searching for a technician with excellent sewing abilities.
Job Type: Part time or Full Time.
Day Shift: Monday to Friday, occasional Saturday.
Pay: $20 - $30 per hour, based on experience and ability.
Responsibilities of the Cut & Sew Technician:
· Cut and sew automotive interior leather and materials.
· Hand/Manually sew upholstery and/or operate commercial sewing machines.
· Create patterns for cutting and trimming of materials to fit interior components.
· Leather wrapping of interior components.
· Measure and cut specified covering material.
· Responsible to fabricate all interior items and assembling seating units for vehicle installation.
· Demonstrate high level of ability with detail in vehicle interiors, including the repair, modification, and refurbishment of vehicle seats, sidewalls, flooring, overhead panels, and trim, including upholstery and re-upholstery of panels, headliners, and sidewalls, to high degrees of finish quality and structural safety.
The ideal candidate will have:
· Experience in sewing a variety of materials including leather, vinyl and stretching of fabric.
· Must be able to detect physical defects.
· Knowledge and understanding of interior trim techniques and procedures.
· Experienced in use of cutting tools.
· Experience in automotive or boating preferred.
· Interview: Willing to complete a work interview to have abilities accessed.
· Experience: 1 Year upholstery and sewing preferred.
